At both Market Gravity (acquired by Deloitte) and Fluxx (aligned with a global consultancy), Rich was part of the leadership team for 50 innovation, digital design, UX and strategy specialists, helping organisations act with startup pace and creativity.
Working collaboratively with client teams, Rich and colleagues turned ideas into growth - responding to challenges like disruptive digital competition, increasing road congestion and pollution, escalating long term health condition costs, demand for lighter food and drink choices, or getting teams ready for a new era of AI and automation.
Uncovering the challenges faced by clients across varied sectors, Rich designed projects and teams that combined deep research, rapid prototyping and scalable blueprints for new products, services and experiences.
His role spanned client acquisition, programme design, delivery oversight and marketing — work closely with clients and colleagues to put customer insight, experimentation, and creative ways of working at the heart of the work.
Highlights included designing a digital transport subscription for Greater Manchester, leading a £1bn omnichannel retail growth project, helping a financial services client unlock £100m in new business through proposition redesign, and co-creating a connected health proposition that won National Health Service innovation funding.
As a Partner as Fluxx, Rich shaped the wider conversation: serving on the Innovation Council for the CBI (the leading representative of businesses in the UK), marketing two books on innovation developed in-house, and shaping the brand through live events, podcasts and digital content.
